It is with great pleasure that Americas Vein Centers announces the addition of Umer Sayeed-Shah, MD FACS to our team. Dr. Shah is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and is now Co-Medical Director of Americas Vein Centers and Americas Cosmetic Surgery Centers.

Dr. Shah is a leading cardiovascular and laser surgeon. He is residency trained at Yale University and fellowship trained at Harvard University and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Shah is a pioneer in laser-thermolysis and has received international recognition through numerous awards and academic honors for his expertise in minimally invasive surgery and laser surgery. Among these are the American Association for Thoracic Surgery First Annual C. Walton Lillelei Award, the American College of Cardiology Young Investigator Award, the American Heart Association Travel Fellowship, and the Medtronic Award at Harvard Medical School. He is the recipient of a number of patents from both the United States and the European Union relating to minimally-invasive surgery and laser surgery.

Dr. Shah has served as Instructor in Surgery at Yale University, Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University, and as Director at the Harvard Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is board certified in surgery, cardiovascular surgery and thoracic surgery. He is certified in SmartLipo Laser Thermolysis, Liposuction, and Body Sculpting. He has extensive sub-specialty expertise in cosmetic and laser surgery of the skin and veins.
