Americas Vein Centers treats patients with chronic wounds in our offices.  Oftentimes chronic and recurring wounds are venous ulcers, so our physicians may develop a treatment course that addresses the underlying issues.

In the case of a wound the doctor may prescribe antibiotics if an infection is present.  The doctor may advise the patient to keep the wound clean and dry, to change dressings as directed, take any prescribed medicine as directed, wear appropriate shoes, and to wear compression stockings/wraps, if appropriate and as directed.

Follow-up visits with the patient will be scheduled so the doctor can assess healing and to see if further treatment is necessary.
